CRITERIA for Award Nomination and Selection

1. Vita Award nominees reside in the 12-County Diocesan area. We hope to award at least one winner from each of three major regions (Monroe / Livingston County, Southern Tier, and Finger Lakes).

2. Vita Award nominees demonstrate a Consistent Life Ethic in their personal and public lives.

3. Vita Award nominees are outstanding in their contribution to and advocacy in at least one Consistent Life Ethic area, but ideally involved in more than one CLE area.

4. Vita Award nominees need not be equally diligent in all CLE areas, but neither publicly oppose nor publicly challenge the CLE position in any area of life.

5. Vita Award Nominees will be contacted to sign a CLE commitment statement and agree to the nomination.

6. Vita Award nominees may be nominated by any individual, organization, group, institution, parish or other faith community.

7. A Vita Award nomination must include the name of two people who are willing to give a personal/professional reference to the Vita CLE Award Committee.
