BISHOP KICKING OFF YEARLONG FAITH PROGRAM
AT CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION, FAIRPORT

Issue Date: Sept. 12, 2007

Bishop of Rochester Matthew Clark will offer his insights on ways people can deepen their relationship with God and share their faith with others in a special kick-off celebration of a "Year of Evangelization" at Church of the Resurrection, Fairport, on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007.

The Roman Catholic church, 63 Mason Road, plans guest speakers, intensive Scripture study, small-group discussions, workshops for parents and other events as part of "EVANGELIZATION: Spread the Word, Feel the Spirit, Share your Faith!"

"As a faith community and as individuals, we are asking the question, 'How can I make God more important in my life.'" said Nancy DeRycke, pastoral administrator. "We hope to deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ and spread the Good News so that others can experience the joy of discipleship."

Bishop Clark will offer three talks -- on discipleship, on evangelization and on the implications of both -- beginning at 8:45 a.m. and until 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
