| Regional Meetings for Catechetical Leaders |
For the purposes of catechetical ministry, the
Department of Evangelization and Catechesis has divided parishes into seven
different geographical regions: four in Monroe County (North Region, Northwest
Region, Southwest Region and Southeast Region) and three outside (Fingerlakes,
Southern Tier, and Genesee Valley.) The catechetical leaders from the parishes
in these regions meet monthly in order in order to support one another, share
ideas, pray, and plan common projects and programs. To summarize the tasks of
each region, they are charged with:
Promoting the professional growth, spiritual well-being, the need for networking, and a sense of camaraderie between catechetical leaders for the expressed purpose of supporting life long faith formation.
Each region has a convenor who acts as a connection between the region and the department and works to keep the region focused on its four tasks by helping to shape the monthly agenda and annual regional activities/projects.
