Every Youth Minister in the Diocese of Rochester is expected to enter the Diocesan Certification Program upon being hired in the Diocese. The Certification Program is overseen and directed by St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry.

The Youth Ministry Certification Track involves 22 courses (including 5 electives) that cover a wide variety of topics including theology, scripture, morality, spirituality, liturgy, and diversity plus 5 specific Youth Ministry courses

• Principles of Youth Ministry

• Leadership Skills for Youth Ministry

• Methods and Models for Youth Ministry

• Evangelization & Catechesis/Prayer & Worship

• Justice & Service/Pastoral Care
