Catholic Campaign for Human Development CCHD
Since its founding by the Catholic bishops of the United States in 1970, CCHD’s mission has been to work toward the elimination of poverty and injustice in this country. CCHD funds small self-help programs initiated and led by poor people. The projects create sustainable jobs, preserve affordable housing, improve neighborhoods, enhance opportunities for youth, and allow people to find a dignified way out of poverty. This funding is available for projects that are initiated and led by poor and/or low-income people regardless of religious affiliation as long as they adhere to Catholic moral values. Funding for local CCHD grants comes from an annual collection in Catholic parishes.

JustFaith

Catholic Charities is partnering with JustFaith Ministries to deepen awareness of and commit to Catholic social teaching. Catholic Charities Justice and Peace Staff is eager to work with any parish that would like to start a JustFaith program.

JustFaith, a thirty-week adult educational and formational program, offers an opportunity for parishioners to experience a spiritual journey into compassion. JustFaith provides a lively and challenging format to read, view, discuss, pray, experience and be formed by the justice tradition that changes lives, inspires faithful witness, and transforms the world through love and service. Across the country, JustFaith has proven to be a potent and successful strategy for expanding and energizing parishioner commitment to address human suffering.
In addition to the 30-week program, Justfaith Ministries offers a program for youth, JusticeWalking, a spirituality program Engaging Spirituality and JustMatters, 6-8 week modules on specific themes.
