“Grooming” behavior puts children at risk Julie was just 13 when she started talking online to Tom. She may have met him first at her church, but their relationship grew through emails and texts. “He didn’t act or even sound like a 56-year-old man on the computer,” Julie says. She knew it was wrong to […]
10 Safety Lessons to Teach Your Children 1. Trust your feelings. God created us to experience emotions for a reason. When we are faced with danger, we experience fear, preparing us to fight or flee. We experience anxiety or apprehension, at times, as a precursor, warning us in advance of pending danger. Teaching your child […]

How You can Promote online safety All safety—including mobile and online safety—begins at home. The habits you exhibit about technology use in your home will be the same habits your children learn. Summer can be a time for learning Summer, too, is for learning, but it doesn’t have to be highly structured learning, says Martin Kilbridge, principal of Siena Catholic Academy in Brighton. “Run-of-the-mill” is not how we operate at CCDR. We’re all about efficiency and
effectiveness, and — dare we say it— out-of-the-box thinking.
So instead of a run-of-the-mill 2012 annual report, we offer this special edition of The Good News,
highlighting our agencies’ most important contributions to community health and well-being last year.
Plenty of stories here, but if you’re looking for financial information, it will be
on our web site, https://www.dor.org/index.cfm/catholic-charities/, after August 15, 2013.
God bless you for your support.
