PPNM 1997-99

Pastoral Planning for the New Millennium was a two part planning process involving all parishes and faith communities in the Diocese of Rochester over a three-year period (1997-99).  Part one was a parish self assessment of its progress and future hopes and concerns.  In part two, parishes developed joint recommendations for their common future by meeting in Planning Groups. In 2002, the second round of planning began.  For more information on the current process, go to PPNM2.

For purposes of planning, parishes and faith communities have been organized into 35 Planning Groups.  A third of the parishes and faith communities participated in 1997;  another third engaged in the 1998 round, and the final third will plan in 1999.Once completed, the process will be repeated every five years.   Parish Process is a detailed description of the 13 steps of the assessment process used by each parish and faith community.
