Mission
We,
the Catholic Church of the Diocese of Rochester, embrace
the gospel
tradition and the Church's long history of serving the
sick and marginalized and
promoting the fullness of life. All members
of the Church, in response
to our baptismal call, are invited to be
present to those who are
ill in mind, body and spirit wherever they
may be including hospitals, nursing
homes, hospices, group homes
and their own homes. We strive
to increase awareness of the
Church's gospel mission to promote health
and healing throughout
the diocese.
Values
• Engage
and empower all members of the Church to serve this mission
• Educate
all on the concept of responding to the needs of the total
human person
in all aspects of mind, body and spirit.
• Be
a collaborative Church, joining with health care providers,
community agencies
and other faith traditions agencies to serve
the ill without duplicating
services whereever possible.
