MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR – St. Martin de Porres Parish, Caledonia/Scottsville/Churchville

Full Time – 35 hours/week

The purpose of this position is to oversee our 3 campuses and work in conjunction with the current part-time custodians to be sure all tasks related to the maintenance and cleaning of the parish buildings and grounds are covered.

Job Duties:

  1. Collaborates with the Pastor and Finance Director in developing a comprehensive plan and schedule to address the operational and maintenance needs of the building and grounds. Serves as a resource to staff regarding building operations and maintenance.
  2. Directs the implementation of the annual work plan regarding the operations and maintenance needs.
  3. Assures the church and other buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly manner. This is accomplished by mopping, waxing, and vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms and washing windows. Also maintains wood furniture that require painting, oiling and maintenance.
  4. Assure the grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner. Responsible for mowing, watering, and edging lawns, snow removal with hand shovels, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, and raking on a seasonal basis.
  5. Performs minor maintenance of the rectory, church, school, and/or other church buildings. Accomplishes this by doing light carpentry work, electrical and minor repair work on the facilities as needed. Change light bulbs and ballast as necessary.
  6. Provides other general assistance as needed through setting up the chairs and tables in the facilities as requested, hauling and moving items, and picking up parts to other equipment as requested by staff.
  7. Assure the collection and disposal of trash and recyclables.
  8. Maintain an inventory of supplies for lighting and cleaning and orders supplies as requested.
  9. Maintain the donated items in the St. Pauly Textile drop box locations.
  10. Attends monthly building and grounds meetings and work closely with the committee.
  11. Maintain the current level of knowledge and skills required to perform the job. Show a willingness to attend workshops or classes as necessary.
  12. Maintain a list of potential improvements to the campus for finance director review.
  13. Other tasks as needed.

 

Job Type: Full-time – 35 hours/week

Salary: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community. (This requirement may be satisfied by a person who has knowledge of and is willing to function in a manner consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church.)
  2. Some High School course work at an entry level; equivalent to High School graduation for experienced level.
  3. Work experience in minor repair work in carpentry, electrical and painting.
  4. Work experience in maintaining grounds including a comprehensive facilities cleaning plan.
  5. Ability to work on a ladder.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  7. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  8. Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
