Our Lady of Peace is seeking a full time Maintenance Coordinator

Hours: 35 hrs/wk. 7:00-2:30 M-F

Pay $18-$20/hr

POSITION PURPOSE:  To oversee the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of all buildings and grounds and supervise other maintenance personnel to ensure all tasks are completed. The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for and personally maintains, renovates, restores, and sees to the upkeep of the buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, and grounds and may conduct preventative maintenance.

LIST OF POSSIBLE JOB DUTIES:

  1. Assures the maintenance of all plant systems and equipment.  This is accomplished by conducting periodic maintenance checks on the equipment, as well as plumbing, electrical, drainage, time, and security systems and calling in vendors when necessary.
  2. Assures the church and other parish or school buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.  Accomplishes this by mopping and vacuuming of floors, cleaning bathrooms and washing windows, supervising volunteer cleaning crews and other maintenance personnel.
  3. Assures the grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner.  Along with other maintenance personnel, responsible for mowing and edging lawns, snow removal with plowing equipment and hand shovels, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, and raking on a seasonal basis.  Maintains playground in a safe and clean manner.
  4. Performs minor maintenance of all buildings.  Accomplishes this by doing light carpentry work and minor repair work on the facilities as needed.
  5. Provides other general assistance as needed through setting up the chairs, tables in the facilities as requested, hauling and moving items, and picking up parts and other equipment as needed.
  6. Assures the collection and disposal of trash and recycling.
  7. Maintains an inventory of supplies for lighting and cleaning and orders supplies as requested.
  8. Maintains current level of knowledge and skills required to perform the job.
  9. Assists in preparing information on major capital projects, including building renovation, or remodeling and/or facilities or grounds improvement.  If project is approved, serves as liaison between the parish or school and the contractor(s) and vendors in overseeing the completion of work.
  10. Ensures bins are brought to both churches on Fridays in preparation for weekend services.
  11. Maintains St. Pauly Box for donated items.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work comfortably at heights such as climbing stairs, ladders, platforms and lifts.
  • Good physical condition: Ability to push, lift, twist, bend, stoop, pull, carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to work outside in various temperatures and conditions.
