Organist

Peace of Christ Parish is seeking a part-time Organist.

Job Responsibilities:

The Part – Time Organist supports the Peace of Christ Parish music program by:

• Providing music for assigned Masses and liturgical programs, working in conjunction with the Director of Music Ministry.
• Adhering to liturgical norms and practices of the Roman Catholic Church.  Reference USCCB’s “Sing to the Lord: Music in Divine Worship.
• Available at least 30 minutes prior to Mass to work with cantors.
• Being available to participate in parish liturgical celebrations outside of regular weekend Masses. These include but are not limited to holy days, Mass of Remembrance, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve/Day, Holy Week.
• Accompanying the parish combined choir at scheduled rehearsals and liturgies.
• Assisting the Director of Music Ministry by filling in as needed for scheduling cantors, and planning music for weekend & holyday Masses.

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor’s in Music, or equivalent in education and experience; choral conducting skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of Roman Catholic Liturgy including official liturgical books.

Rate: $25/hour for meetings and rehearsals. Flat fees depending on the type of service when playing the organ.
