Part-Time Spanish Teacher (Grades 1-6)

Location: St. Francis – St. Stephen School – Geneva, NY
Job Type: Part-Time (One day a week or two half-days a week)

St. Francs – St. Stephen School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Spanish Teacher to join our faith-filled learning community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching Spanish language and culture to students in grades 1-6, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to fostering both academic and spiritual growth.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certification: Preferred certification in Spanish or Elementary Education (or equivalent).
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Spanish with strong communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Lesson Planning & Instruction: Ability to develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons that build vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  • Classroom Management: Skilled in creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with administration, colleagues, and families.
  • Faith & Mission: A practicing Catholic is preferred but not required. All candidates should be supportive of the school’s Catholic mission and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish language and culture to students in grades 1-6.
  • Plan and implement creative, interactive lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Foster a supportive and engaging classroom culture.
  • Communicate effectively with administration, colleagues, and families regarding student progress.
  • Participate in school events and faith-based activities as appropriate.
