MAINTENANCE WORKER

A Maintenance worker is required for an eastside City parish. This position is to provide cleaning and light maintenance for the parish buildings and grounds.

LIST OF POSSIBLE JOB DUTIES:

1. Assures the church and school buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.  Accomplishes this by mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms and washing windows.
2. Assures the grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner.  Responsible for mowing, watering, and edging lawns, bush trimming, snow removal with snow blowers, hand shovels and salt spreaders (plowing contracts in place for parking lot snow removal), blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, and raking on a seasonal basis.
3. Performs minor maintenance of the rectory, church, school, and/or other church buildings.  Accomplishes this by doing light carpentry work and minor repair work on the facilities as needed.
4. Provides other general assistance as needed through setting up the chairs, tables in the facilities as requested, hauling and moving items, and picking up parts to other equipment as requested by staff.
5. Assures the collection and disposal of trash and garbage as needed.
6. Maintains an inventory of supplies for lighting and cleaning and orders supplies as requested.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful work experience in minor repair work in carpentry and painting.
• Successful work experience implementing a comprehensive cleaning plan for a facility, including sweeping, dusting, washing, and waxing. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, especially as printed on cleansing agents and mechanical equipment.
• Successful work experience maintaining grounds, parking lots.
• Ability to work from ladders, adjust to height and close quarters; withstand heat and cold; good eye-hand coordination and flexibility.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to work and interact appropriately with colleagues and students.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to honor and maintain confidentiality and be committed and reliable.
• Ability to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities.
• On-call availability for emergencies.

   JOB INFORMATION:

 Looking to hire 2 – Part-time positions: approximately 20-25 hours per week

Wage range: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
