St Mariann Cope Parish is seeking a part-time Youth Minister.

Position Title: Assistant to Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Program

Reports to:      Pastoral Administrator (with oversight from Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Coordinator)

Date:               August 24, 2026

Status:             One Person, Non-Exempt, 15-20 Hours per week (including Sundays)

Position Purpose:

To assist and collaborate with the Pastoral Administrator and Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Coordinator in implementing the mission, vision, and values of the Parish in the Faith Formation (grades K-6) and Youth Ministry (grades 7-12) programs.  This also includes assisting in the preparation of youth and their families for the sacraments of first Reconciliation, first Holy Communion (2nd grade) and Confirmation (8-9th grade).

Requirements:

  • A fully initiated Roman Catholic active in a Catholic Parish;
  • A certified catechetical leader, having an undergraduate degree in a related field, or at least 3 years of experience in a related field;
  • Willing to work Sunday mornings and evenings as needed;
  • Must be CASE trained, (Creating A Safe Environment), a program of the Diocese of Rochester, before or upon beginning employment.

Qualifications:

  • An understanding of, and ability to relate to youth and their families in the culture of today’s Catholic Church, society, and world;
  • Able to assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing educational and spiritual faith experiences for youth and their families;
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and collaboration skills as part of the parish team;
  • Able to honor and maintain confidentiality;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google applications, and social media;
  • Primary assistance in planning and implementing the Youth Ministry program (grades 7-12), including evening gatherings, service and social justice projects/trips, retreats or faith conferences, and fundraisers;
  • Secondary assistance in planning and implementing the Family Faith program (grades K-6), including Family Faith sessions, First Sacrament preparation meetings, and special events.

Wage Range: $19-21/hr
