Physical Education Teacher (Part-time)

St. Michael Catholic School located in Penn Yan, NY is seeking a caring, organized, and faith-filled  Physical Education teacher working with  Prek – 5th grade students for the 2026-2027 School year. The ideal candidate will support a positive, structured learning environment while continuing the academic and spiritual formation of our students in partnership with colleagues and families.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction aligned with the PE curriculum in core subject areas
  • Maintain a classroom environment that reflects Catholic values and promotes respect, responsibility, and kindness
  • Implement lesson plans, assessments, and classroom routines
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with school staff and families
  • Collaborate with grade-level teachers, specialists, and administration
  • Support the social, emotional, and spiritual development of students

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Education preferred)
  • NYS Teacher Certification preferred, but not required
  • Previous elementary teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of St. Michael Catholic School
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues

Additional Information:

  • This is a Part Time position working 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)
  • All required diocesan clearances and background checks must be completed prior to employment
