Prayer labyrinth at the Cathedral

Prayer Labyrinth at Sacred Heart Cathedral

The prayer labyrinth is a unique form of devotional prayer which dates back to the Middle Ages and imitates a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.  On this replica of the 12th century labyrinth built into the floor of the Chartres Cathedral near Paris, one journeys through each of four quadrants several times before reaching the center—a place of stillness and quiet with the Lord—and then “journeys” back out.
