Adult Faith Formation Coordinator

St Paul’s Church is seeking a part-time, 15-20 ours/week, non-exempt , Adult Faith Formation Coordinator.

Primary Objective: Collaborates with the pastor and other staff in implementing the mission of the parish, through the comprehensive planning and implementation of the parish Adult Faith Formation program.

Adult Faith Formation Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordination and implementation of parish Adult Faith Formation program by developing opportunities for spiritual development for the parish. This includes overseeing and organizing retreats and programs.
  • Contributes to the initial formation and ongoing faith development of parishioners.
  • Provides on-going educational and training opportunities for parishioners about Catholic social teaching.
  • Provides on-going personal presence at parish events, e.g., at the church during liturgies, spends time with parishioners, especially at important moments in their lives.
  • Collect and track fees as required.
  • Prepare mailings (promotional and general info) as needed.

Homebound Visitor Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the parish’s outreach to persons who are homebound, disabled, and/or ill. This is accomplished by coordinating volunteers and/or directly providing regular reception of Holy Communion to such parishioners.
  • Maintains Homebound visit log.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Meets with families to plan funerals following Diocesan and Parish liturgical guidelines.
  • Directs and implements the parish RCIA program (if needed).
  • Supports the development of volunteers for ministry. This is accomplished by recruiting, screening, training, motivating, and supporting volunteers, and by providing on-going opportunities for faith sharing, formation, and development.
  • Collaborate with other staff on ministries and programs that cross age boundaries– Christmas, Easter, VBS, etc
  • Provide Seeds Articles – as scheduled
  • Provide updates on programs & events through bulletin and website articles.
  • Provides calendar of events to parish Administrative Assistant.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with DOR Safe Environment guidelines for all program volunteers and that they are up to date with training and CRC.
  • Attend regular staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Undergraduate degree in Theology or Religious Studies or appropriate certification/experience.
  • Active membership in a faith community of the Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Rochester.
  • Completion of CASE training and background check.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings, or to be available as needed.
  • Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, planning and budgeting.

Pay Range: $20 to $22 per hour
