PASTORAL ASSOCIATE – Faith Formation/Youth Ministry

Job Title: Pastoral Associate
Reports to: Parish Pastor
Location: All Saints Parish, Corning, NY
Work Hours: Full Time employment (35 hours per week)

Wage: Salaried/Exempt; Starting Salary to begin at $62,353.00/year

All Saints Parish located in Corning NY is seeking a faith filled and energetic individual for the role of Pastoral Associate to grow, develop, and oversee the Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Program.
Responsible for the implementation of the parish religious education program including:

Supervising religious education personnel.
Assist with the training, support, scheduling, and communication of religious education personnel and volunteers.
Assist with communication to parents and families regarding program schedules, expectations, activities, and religious education opportunities.
Carrying out the day-to-day responsibilities necessary for the religious education program
Assist in evaluating programs and identifying areas for improvement.
Plans and assists with implementing programs for children and teens including:
Elementary-age classes
Vacation bible school
Teenage/High-School – Confirmation and youth group

Directs implementation of sacramental preparation programs.
Assist with preparation for Baptism, First Reconciliation/Penance, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.
Assist with parent communication, meetings, scheduling, materials, and other practical needs related to sacramental preparation.
Implements sacramental marriage preparation for couples.

Assist with OCIA as requested by the Pastoral Associate 1.
Identifies and recommends eligible high school seniors for the Hands of Christ Award.
Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential records related to religious education, faith formation, and sacramental preparation.
Maintains a working knowledge of ParishSoft and utilizes the system appropriately within assigned areas of responsibility.
Coordinate and contribute to the parish’s overall communications and media presence, ensuring consistency in tone and presentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR PASTORAL ASSOCIATES:

1. 3 – 5 years of demonstrated successful full time paid pastoral ministry experience in parish/faith community.

2. Masters degree in religious education, pastoral theology, or comparable field.

3. Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community.

4. Demonstrated ability to both share one’s personal faith journey and enable others to do the same.

5. Demonstrated successful ability to manage staff, volunteers, budgets, and programs.

6. Able to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities.

7. Able to honor and maintain confidentiality.

8. Be proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs and applications as needed.
